Difference Between Perfume Oil, EDP, EDT and Body Mist

The difference comes down to the concentration of oils and the complexity of the fragrance profile it delivers.

For as long as we can remember, humans have been on a mission to bottle up the irresistible scents of nature to enhance our personal scent. The art of perfumery seeks to find the most enchanting ways that these bottled up bursts of glory mix with our skin. And turns out each combination ends up smelling a tad different on each of us. So, picking out a perfume? It's like a personal adventure that's all kinds of fun.

Once you've cracked the code on which scent speaks to your soul, the next puzzle piece is deciding how strong you want that scent to be.

Here’s the lowdown: it all depends on the concentration of fragrance oil. If you’re going for the big guns, we’re talking ‘Perfume Oil’ – the heavyweight champion of intensity. Then there's ‘Eau de Parfum,’ bringing the strong game and sticking around for the long haul. Dial it down a notch, and you’ve got ‘Eau de Toilette’ serving up a lighter dose of fabulousness. And for the feather-soft touch, there’s ‘Body Mist’ – delicate, dreamy, and oh-so-subtle.

So, in this whole fragrant escapade, you're the boss, calling the shots and crafting an aromatic masterpiece that’s as unique as you are.

Perfume oil

This super sultry oil with its intense aroma might hit the scene faster, showcasing certain fragrance facets that could grab your attention in a flash – we're talking blink-and-you'll-smell-it moments. And guess what? It's got staying power, rocking that scent for a solid 10 hours. But hey, it's all about what vibes with you, so don't forget to play around with a tester. Who knows, it might unlock a secret scent chamber in your brain you never knew existed.

HOW TO APPLY PERFUME

Tip 1: Where to apply?

Look for your pulse points, where the heat points will help the scent diffuse better. Your neck, wrists, inside of your elbow, on the inside of your knees and even just below your belly button are great places to apply scent.

Tip 2: How close should you spritz?

12cm away from your skin is generally a good rule of thumb. You don’t want your skin to appear wet, but you want the fragrance to arrive on your skin as a fine spray. This makes absorption easier.

Tip 3: Don’t rub

Don’t rub the fragrance into your skin, but allow it to settle on its own, where it will later reveal it’s complexity during the day. Rubbing it in may make the scent disappear quicker.

Tip 4: How to store it

Where you store your fragrances impacts their lifespan. Cool places, away from sunlight is often good places to keep them. Humidity and heat may interfere with the scent properties of your fragrance.
